In case you aren’t from New York or have never met a Jewish person, a “schmear” is a spread, traditionally cream cheese spread on bagels but also on sandwiches.
To make avocado schmear, just mash some avocado and schmear it on the toast. For a really rich, silky texture, add a few drops of good olive oil. Its good just with some salt and pepper incorporated but you can chop some fresh herbs into it or add fresh lemon juice. I like to use it on sandwiches instead of mayo.
